My Backyard is a place where children are guided and encouraged to grow in Christ and explore their faith through creative, active, age-appropriate, and Bible-based experiences. First Christian Children’s Ministry joyfully serves infants through 5th graders in a safe, secure environment. Whether you are a first-time visitor or have been here for many years, you will feel the love of Christ as you enter My Backyard! Hanging Out in the Backyard

Our Sunday School and Wednesday evening programs exist to dive deeper into the topics that we cover during Sunday morning worship. These times also allow students to build stronger relationships with their peers by sharing experiences with each other. The more informal atmosphere allows for more crafts and games to make scriptural truths more relevant.

In the Backyard Nursery we strive to provide a clean and safe environment where you and your little ones will sense Gods love. We also use sensory experiences, singing and simple words and stories to begin to instill in our little ones more of who God is and how He loves them.

We make the most of the pre-schoolers natural curiosity and excitement to learn by using an exciting, fun, creative curriculum that introduces them to the basic foundational Bible stories through play, activities and worship.

In the Backyard Garage, we continue to build on our children’s foundational biblical knowledge. Through worship Bible stories games and activities our grade schoolers come to know God more deeply and continue to develop their actively growing faith.

Grow is the combined ministries of First Christian Church, Jefferson Christian Church and Poplar Springs Church of Christ. Grow exists to strengthen the faith and spiritual maturity of our families through a 40-day, interactive devotional.
Special Activities
First Christian Children’s Ministry offers a variety of activities throughout the year that engage an array of children and families birth through 5th Grade! Adventures range from church camp for our grade schoolers, Super Tuesdays for birth through 5th Grade, lock-ins, fun nights, Family Fest (alternative to Halloween), family movie nights, Vacation Bible School, annual holiday events/programs and service/mission-minded projects.
